Evergreen Fog - Sherwin-Williams Color of 2022

We’re here to talk all things color in your vacation home. Maybe you have a property listed through a popular hosting site like Airbnb, VRBO, Vacasa or you have a website where you’re renting out your fabulous home on your own. Either way, color should be a big part of your design and has the ability to take your renters on a journey through the experience you’re curating for them. We have included all of the do’s and don’ts for the 2022 color trends and how to incorporate them into your home.

Adding color can be scary for a lot of DIY designers. It’s daunting to know which shade, how much and where to use it. Vacation rental Hosts want to make their property stand out, look unique and to create those Insta-worthy photo spots that everyone is dying for. The easiest and most affordable way to do that is through color, so let’s dive in.

We have a rule of thumb when adding color, especially when we are trying to incorporate any trends; nothing too permanent or expensive to replace IF those colors go out of style in a couple of years. Think accessories, moveable objects, artwork and paint. By keeping your pricier, immobile items neutral, it is easy to upgrade in the future without breaking the bank.

We are loving the 2022 color trends this year, especially here in the desert. Evergreen Fog by Sherwin Williams is a gorgeous earthy green that can be incorporated virtually anywhere, in any design style. Its soothing and soft characteristic gives off that spa like vibe which we are all striving for when designing the perfect vacation spot. Pair it with light to medium buckskin leathers, funky boucle textures and black and brass hardwares. Don’t be afraid to be bold with accessories that bring in the sunset tones below.

Now I know what you’re thinking, these mauve and blush toned colors are too feminine…think again! The great thing about this years palette is that these are all colors found in nature. I’m not suggesting that you go out and paint your wall a dusty rose (although we’re not at all opposed to that). I’m talking desert clay accents, sunsets tones, moods of ocean waves and forest greens incorporated into the details of your design.

If you’re not ready for that bold statement wall, start with golden pampas grass in a terracotta clay vase. Try getting new toss pillows that pack a punch of color AND texture. Find artwork that inspires a conversation and unifies your new color palette.

We always tell our viewers and clients that it’s the smallest details, the final steps that make the biggest impact and we mean it. We encourage you to take the first step in incorporating some of these suggestions into your vacation rental to keep it fresh and on trend. As always, if you’re not ready to take it on yourself, then visit us here at TurnKey BNB. We can take on your project, big or small, and within any budget!
